Classic Of The Week: Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd – Dark side of the moon

This is a conceptual album, every music fan should have. The album begins with an instrumental, imitating the sound of a heartbeat and a clock. It creates the theme of the album through the two simple sounds the albums starts off with. The theme it draws on, is our subjective understanding of time and what we view as important; and how time objectively passes in a fixed pattern that denies our sentiments, norms, happiness and sadness.
The album expresses the futility of our actions and when you listen to the album you realize how nihilism sets into your consciousness.
The album is perfectly constructed using abstract ideas and a diverse range of sounds, perfectly rounded-off by David Gilmoure on the guitar.
Get the album and find time to enjoy and explore the complexity, beauty and darkness in the album.▲
