Al Bairre is a five piece band that have taken to stage at many Cape Town hangouts. It's difficult not to find yourself tapping your shoes or attempting a little dance (well, that's what I do anyway) when you're at one of their shows. My first opportunity to see them live was at BOETMAN GOES BIG hosted by Hidden Cellar in Stellenbosch and what a treat it was. They have managed to combine the ukulele, cello, violin, guitar, drums and melodic vocals to create a lovely explosion of sound which is, needless to say, super pleasing to the ears.
You should check them out, have a good time and dance around. And for those of you who were wondering, it's pronounced Al Bear. Enjoy. ▲
