GSC March 2013: Durbanville

The 31 March Africa Skate gave skateboarders the opportunity to come together for a braai and beers at D’ville Park, for the Go Skate Cape initiative. Go Skate Cape give skateboarders from different areas the opportunity to appreciate spots and parks outside of their commune as a collective.

On the 31st of March it was D’ville. Durbanville “skatepark” was the only place for a period of time where skateboarders could assemble and skate in the Northern Suburb. It kept kids stoked and created different styles and approaches towards skateboarding. The passion for skateboarding that the Streets Crew has - is manifested on the basketball course in Durbanville. If it wasn’t for them – building up the park and keeping the obstacles unique and interesting a great amount of people would have probably gave up skateboarding or become dispassionate. D’ville and the attitude of skateboarders at D’ville were inspiring in the time period that is often labeled as the “skateboard drought in Cape Town”.

Check the edit and thanks to Africa Skate for the event.
