The drive through to Rocking the Daisies provided a beautiful landscape with rolling hills, meadows and farmlands. It was no revelation that the estate was just as breathtaking with ample grass and an extremely welcoming dam to dip in. It was difficult to take it all in at once as excitement and adrenaline kicked in quickly on arrival.

The Carling Black Label Campsite stage provided Thursday night's campers with a kick-start to the festival. I waited with eagerness for 8 PM as Psych night took over the stage, this included the likes of The Future Primitives, Wild Eastern Arches and The Very Wicked who fueled my already raging fire of exhilaration.
Throughout the event catered to all; a swinging lineup at the main-stage, bouncy beats at the Electro tent and Mainstay Beach Bar and foot-stomping beats at the Nu World Beat Barn. For those wanting to take a quick break from the live acts, there was more than enough entertainment, the Shnit cinema, lemon tree theater and vendors had something for everyone.

It was a mad rush to see Bloc Party live which was one of many highlights of the event; Kele and the gang performed an amazing set with old and new songs for their fans. Among others I was also impressed by the performances of ShortStraw, Kongos, Isochoronous, Jeremey Loops and of course the whole Psych night lineup.
Between the toilet queues, muddy walks back to the tent and the search for "Allen" and "Steve" was the beauty of a well thought out and organized festival. Rocking the Daisies had many Eco-conscious initiatives such as the cup of stompies for a free beer and recycling bins which got me thinking more about a healthier environment so switch off those unused appliances people, etc.
